Our Production Workflow: What to Expect

Whether you are recording an 80-hour audiobook, a 30-second commercial, or a corporate e-learning series, our studio is built on a foundation of technical precision and creative collaboration. Here is a look at how we take your project from the initial script to a polished, industry-compliant final master.

How It Works

Step 1: Pre-Production & Onboarding

Before the microphone turns on, we align on the creative vision. We review your script, discuss the desired tone, and establish your target audience. For projects utilizing professional narrators, we help facilitate casting to ensure you find the perfect voice for your brand or story.

Step 2: The Studio Setup & Technical Calibration

When it’s time to record, our engineer meticulously calibrates our spaces to achieve an ultra-low noise floor. We select microphones that complement the unique tonal characteristics of the narrator's voice, ensuring clinical clarity where every word is crisp, natural, and free of distracting room reflections.

Step 3: Recording & Direction (The "Punch and Roll" Advantage)

During the session, our engineer act as a co-pilot. For long-form narration, we utilize the industry-standard "Punch and Roll" technique. If a mistake or mispronunciation happens, we stop, back up to the last natural pause, and seamlessly punch back into the recording. This means the narrator stays in the creative flow, and the audio footprint remains perfectly consistent.

Step 4: The Quality & Sample Approval Checkpoint

We believe in aligning early to ensure we are perfectly executing your vision. We never record an entire project in the dark.

  • For Audiobooks (The ACX 15-Minute Rule): Following strict industry best practices, we submit the first 15 minutes of your audiobook for your explicit review and approval. This checkpoint ensures that the pacing, character voices, and overall tone are exactly what you envisioned before we record the remaining chapters.
  • For All Other Projects: We implement a Sample Approval Checkpoint. We will send over a polished sample of the opening lines or the first module (depending on your project type) so you can approve the style, energy, and sonic texture before we proceed with full production.

Step 5: Post-Production & Micro-Editing

Once the full recording is approved and completed, our engineer goes to work behind the scenes. We perform surgical micro-editing to remove natural but distracting sounds like mouth clicks, heavy breaths, and lip smacks. We then apply professional equalization and dynamic control to give the voice a rich, broadcast-ready presence that keeps listeners engaged for hours.

Step 6: Pickups, Revisions & Continuity Matching

If a script changes, a name pronunciation is corrected, or an author needs to record a missing section, we handle Pickups and Revisions seamlessly. Because we carefully log our technical notes, we can replicate the exact microphone placement, preamp gain, and room acoustics weeks later. Your replacement audio will blend perfectly with the original session.

Step 7: Technical Compliance & Final Delivery

Before delivery, every project undergoes a final technical review.

Audiobooks are prepared to meet the technical requirements of major audiobook distribution platforms, including specifications for peak levels, average loudness, background noise, and chapter formatting.

Commercials, podcasts, corporate narration, and educational content are mastered to the loudness standards required by their intended platform, broadcaster, or learning management system.

When your project is complete, you'll receive professionally organized, fully compliant audio files ready for publication, distribution, or immediate use.
